great video thanks. I watched the correction on the iron condor with great interest. The problem is when to do the debit spread. In my opinion, you should move early so as not to spend a lot. If you move too early, you risk that the movement will go back and you will have wasted money. If you move too late, you will spend a lot. Maybe create a large profit area by doing a call ratio spread or a long call condor

Assuming 95% of the "groups" are really not helpful, are there any other options/trading teachers that you respect or you think are actually good to pay attention to? Thank you!

What am I missing with respect to your risk… how was the risk only $30? Shouldn’t it be $500(wing width) - $35 (premium collected)?

Excellent video, though it does leave me with one question: out of all the stocks in the market, how, specifically, do you know which ones to select to enter one of these trades? In other words, what tools do you use to pick a stock which is likely to move enough upon an earnings announcement to result in a money-making trade. Thanks.

By buying a call aggressively like buying a 120 strike call when your selling leg is 135, it means we will be giving a lot of premium in debit which would mean we would have a huge vega component and less theta component. If the IV drops, the vega component would start incurring big losses. Isnt it?

Thoughts on using this for ODTE? I use the strangle straddle swap.

@tradersflyofficial I rercently got a newsletter (ad) from an investment subscription I have. This guy does this Jolts Loophole trade. They 0DTE. I'm just not going to subscribe to whatch him trade it. He puts on a trade the day before by 4pm of a JOLTS survey report, and takes profits the next day after the report is released. Is he using a Long Straddle for this setup? I've traded options since the late 1990s. I've never used a straddle though. Curious what your thoughts are on this type of trade and how it's executed. BTW, Really liking your website. Thanks.

from experience if you have a good coach, investing will not take upto 5yrs, i had a so so coach and was able to learn basic options and profit in abt 6months, if u are educated and can read/ study (high percentage of the population) and as long as you/ coach keep it clear and simple then u will be fine. i found that using real money and small acct in the beginning also made the whole experience more real and made me more focused/ interested in what was happening. also tested the coach to see if they are legit or not, win win all around. also a good idea to educate your children asap in investing and work on demo/ small account so they grow up to be fin independent as ive already said they should teach this stuff in schools but dont for an obvious reason. my kids are teens and they can more or less trade in options and most importantly profitable, took them 3-6months to learn. hope this helps

Sort of. It really hinges on time frame. If your time frame for a position is less than a year, probably the only biggest factor is market sentiment and momentum. All that information out there, whether it be macro, technical, fundamental, or mechanical, will be baked into the price action. Right now NVidia is NVidia because it's incorporated into a market melt-up and the AI hype bubble. Three years ago NVidia was NVidia because graphical processing units are massively useful and cost effective for problems that can be solved with parallel processing, namely AI. But without knowing that, you wouldn't know whether NVidia was a growth stock then and is a hype stock now, and that incorporates very different investment paradigms. Likewise with your example of Apple, in 2006 it was a growth stock with the release of the iPhone, and now, without Jobs, it's a cash cow but not a growth stock. Why is this important? Because if your time frame is multi-year or even multi-decade, research is crucial. If you're 30 years old now, you want to find the next undiscovered Apple, and what technological trend will provide a massive boost in human productivity (steam engine, railroads, transistor, personal computer, World Wide Web, general purpose AI, low cost energy breakthrough). If your time frame is less than a decade, you're probably close to retiremet, and need to research the average expected returns for fixed income and the S&P over the next 10 years. If your time frame is 9 months, you ride out the current flavor of the month, and sticking your finger in the wind is all the research you need. And if your deal is options, which apart from LEAPS are less than a year, then that's the mechanism for rapidly entering, hedging, and exiting a position. Because as a seller, time is on your side, whereas as a buyer it is not. If your game is trading risk for theta, nothing about the underlying matters. If your game is synthetic covered calls, then all the research apropos to holding stocks applies to the call contracts.

totally agree. market dynamics change and what kinds of stocks become in favor along with competition and many other factors. Much more accurate and easy to simply follow the chart, that tells you in advance what's going to happen!

Your comments are very well said! I have been successful with both casino gambling and investing! Right now, after actually retiring from a real job, I am shutting down all casino play (that had a overall positive profit) and am now considering some low risk investing! My approach now is to try make small cash profits and avoid becoming an "aggressive" daytime trader, who tend to fail at close to a 90-95% rate! I believe it takes critical analysis and DISCIPLINE to come out ahead, just like the late, great Vincent Lombardi!! Thank you so much for sharing as I very much enjoyed it!!

Maybe I missed something in the video but I never saw any of my long LEAPS calls lose value when underlying is going up, quite opposite. I buy them at .80 to .90 Delta which means that LEAPS will follow closely value of underlying stock and that's how I made money last year with MSFT, GOOGL etc.
